Peripheral Considerations

Peripheral Considerations is a video essay based on six interviews conducted in September 2016 at the Human Rights House in Zagreb. Croatia, a relatively new member of the European Union, has been struggling with wars and crises, in both, its far and recent past. The interviewees were asked two questions: ‘How big is the gap between you and your government’; and ‘How much do you trust that your government works in the best interest of the people’. Their answers are accurately reflected in the voiceover of this video essay. Many issues that were raised by them are similar to the ones surfacing in central Europe.
